70% of your employees hate their job. Employees describe themselves as “not engaged” or "actively disengaged” according to a 2015 Gallup survey.
So, if you identify with the results, now you know you are not alone.
The problem doesn’t end there. In the largest European economies, productivity used to grow five percent per annum in the '50s, '60s and early '70s. Since 1995: it grows less than one percent per annum, despite all the technological innovation around us, free-pizza-friday and Club-Mate.
Productivity is the principal driver of prosperity in our society. Not surprisingly, Gallup’s results also tell us that employees that “are emotionally disconnected from their workplaces are less likely to be productive.” Uh, duh. Kinda obvious, no?
It’s not all bad news. It’s just a wake up call.
New Work is the vision of a job system where we all have the true freedom of choosing what we really, really want to do. Many organisations are already embracing it. Countries such as Sweden have adopted a six-hour work day and they have experienced an increase in productivity. Let’s get together to explore, discuss and experiment about this topic!
